PE1865/L - Suspend all surgical mesh and fixation devices

I am writing to you to urge you to suspend all surgical mesh devices.

My life has been ruined due to having mesh fitted after suffering bladder leakage after the birth of my two kids.

I had a partial removal because my mesh was put in the wrong place. Since this my bladder did not work and I had to endure another operation to have a sacral nerve implant to try to get my bladder working again.

I was not fully informed of the dangers of mesh and harm this could cause.

My Aftercare was shockingly terrible.

I have been left in chronic pain and have to have strong painkillers for nerve damage. I am in constant pain.

Sometimes I can’t even sit down due to the pain being so bad, my legs get weak. I have pain in my lower back hips groin and legs. Sometimes I have to stand on one leg.

I feel like I have been forgotten about as aftercare has been shocking and mostly left to my GP.

I lost my job and had to retire due to ill health.

I urge you to stop mesh operations before other women and men are lied to and damaged.

I feel the Scottish Government have a duty of care and have not followed through on recommendations suggested previously in the mesh scandal.

I am asking for your help to do this and help all of us who are suffering in agony.
