Cathleen Macleod submission of 19 June 2021

PE1865/G - Suspend all surgical mesh and fixation devices

Mesh has ruined my life. I no longer recognise who I am. I was told it would change my life for good it certainly did that. I was not fully informed of the risks attached. Had I known I would never have had it done. My care over the years was appalling passed from pillar to post nobody knew what was wrong or address the actual problem. It was everything else but mesh that was the problem until I fell extremely ill to discover it was MESH erosion through various organs.

I’m now sadly registered disabled to go from an outdoor, fun loving person to a recluse unable to do much because of constant pain and poor mobility.

I strongly feel that my submission is important it’s time for us that are Mesh injured are listened to. The various bodies involved in the Mesh scandal their recommendations have not been met...what is the Government going to do about that? Covid is too easy an excuse!

This mutilation of peoples bodies has to stop!

As a pelvic Mesh victim I’m referencing the first petition by Elaine & Olive two remarkable people.
