Letter from Convener of the Net Zero, Energy and Transport Committee to Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity, 16 November 2021

Dear Lorna,

At its meeting today, the Committee considered the environmental (waste) legislative functions in the consent notification for the UK Statutory Instrument - The Waste and Agriculture (Legislative Functions) Regulations 2021. (We note that the proposed SI cuts across a number of policy areas and that the Conveners of the Rural Affairs, Islands and Natural Environment Committee and the Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee have written separately to the Scottish Government in relation to functions in the proposed SU relevant to their remits.)

The Committee agreed to confirm that it is content for the Scottish Government to give consent to UK Ministers making regulations on its behalf in relation to this SI, insofar as it will make provision in relation to environmental waste.
