In tackling the school run, investment has created new shared walking and cycling paths and new secure cycle parking, provided various incentives to cycle or walk to school including reflective clothing and cycle training skill kits, almost all schools now have 20mph zones and over 61% of schools are working on a travel plan.

As Mike Rumbles says, it is not possible to come off at the junction at a greater speed than 20mph—drivers have to decelerate on the A90 to no more than that speed.

There is no formal appeal mechanismin relation to 20mph speed limits outside schools. However, parents and representativescan of course raise such issues locally with their local authority and MSPs canof course initiate Parliamentary action.
