Heart and Circulatory Diseases
This Cross-party group's purpose:
- To act as a channel of communications between the Scottish Parliament and people affected by heart disease, healthcare professionals and researchers.
- To identify areas for action in the detection, diagnosis and treatment of heart disease in Scotland; the provision of recovery & care services in Scotland and identify any issues relating to out of hospital cardiac arrest survival, and to campaign for improvement.
- To keep abreast of any new research and evidence relating to heart and circulatory disease and ensure that the medical research environment in Scotland is best resourced and placed to support research and innovation relating to heart and circulatory disease.
- To monitor the implementation of the Heart Disease Action Plan, the Women’s Health Plan (in relation to heart disease) and the OHCA strategy for Scotland and work with the Scottish Government to ensure full implementation.
