  • Motion reference: S6M-15600

That the Parliament congratulates Lanarkshire Carers on being commended as a Best Practice Employer for its leadership in supporting staff members, who are carers, at the Carer Positive 10th Anniversary Awards; acknowledges what it sees as the significance of the Carer Positive Employers in Scotland scheme, a Scottish Government initiative administered by Carers Scotland, which celebrates employers who demonstrate exceptional support for carers in the workplace; understands that the awards ceremony, which was held at Edinburgh’s City Chambers, recognised a wide range of employers from across Scotland’s private, public and voluntary sectors; commends Lanarkshire Carers on receiving the Carer Positive 10th Anniversary Award for Best Small or Medium Employer for Overall Carer Support; recognises the outstanding achievements of Lanarkshire Carers in supporting carers, including receiving the Carers Trust Excellence for Carers Award, achieving Exemplary status for Carer Positive, and being named Small Employer of the Year at the Proud Scotland Awards 2023, and acknowledges what it sees as the organisation’s innovative approach to identifying and supporting the carers that it employs, which, it believes, serves as a model of good practice for employers across Scotland.
