SocialTrack Named Community Project at Scottish Mountain Bike Awards

  • Submitted by: Clare Adamson, Motherwell and Wishaw, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 25 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15599

That the Parliament congratulates SocialTrack on winning the Scottish Mountain Bike Award in the Community Project category; acknowledges the importance of these awards in celebrating the achievements of the Scottish mountain biking community and the individuals and organisations that contribute to its success; commends SocialTrack for what it sees as its outstanding efforts in supporting the Wishawhill Wood Pump Track and its connection to the Wishaw Mountain Biking Club, which, it believes, has significantly impacted the local community since its establishment in 2018, and praises the organisation’s ongoing work to combat youth poverty in the post-industrial towns of Wishaw and Motherwell, using the transformative power of mountain biking and cycling to create positive opportunities and improve both physical and mental health.
