That the Parliament congratulates Charcoals restaurant in Glasgow on being named among the best in the UK at the Asian Curry Awards, dubbed the “Curry Oscars”; notes that the event, which took place on 17 November 2024 at the Grosvenor House in London’s Mayfair, covers fine dining, casual dining, street food, and the complete range of Asian and Oriental cuisines; understands that the award winners were chosen from all over the UK by the Asian Catering Federation’s esteemed panel of judges from a list of finalists voted for by the public; recognises that the team at Charcoals picked up a double win after being named Glasgow's best, while manager Muhammad Sultan was named Curry King as part of a special award; notes that Mr Sultan was deeply proud and honoured to get the award for the Curry King; acknowledges that the popular Indian restaurant on the Trongate is also known for its incredible charity work, which sees it regularly donate food and gifts to homeless people, and understands that Mr Sultan also regularly goes out of his way to offer much-needed items, such as gloves, hats and sleeping bags, to homeless people when he can, and spends a month in the city of Lahore working with 18 to 20 of his family and friends to help feed over a thousand people with free food packages and a special cookout.
