Aberdeen Science Centre Winter Events

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 19 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15535

That the Parliament welcomes the announcement of Aberdeen Science Centre’s winter events to keep children and families entertained throughout the winter months; notes that the Cookbook Chemistry theme, which runs on weekends and school holidays from November 2024 to the end of January 2025, will give visitors the opportunity to use kitchen ingredients to explore different chemical reactions in an interactive science demonstration, with bite-sized chemistry drop-in activities available throughout the exhibition floor; understands that the Little Explorer Days, on 22 November and 18 December 2024, will encourage children to learn and play in a safe environment, with a dinosaur-themed day in November and a Winter Wonderland day in December; believes that these activities, along with a Santa event, encouraging visitors to help Father Christmas solve a festive mystery, will provide opportunities for families to keep their children entertained this winter while learning something new, and hopes that these events are a tremendous success in getting children interested in discovering the world around them.
