That the Parliament notes with great sadness the passing of James (Jim) Jamieson, senior physics associate at the Scottish Schools Education Research Centre (SSERC); acknowledges Jim's long and distinguished career in education, in which he dedicated himself to inspiring generations of students and teachers alike in the field of physics; recognises his invaluable contributions to SSERC, where he played a key role in the development of resources and professional development opportunities that helped enhance the teaching and learning of physics in Scottish schools; commends Jim's unwavering commitment to improving science education in Scotland, particularly his work in promoting the practical and experimental aspects of physics, and his efforts to make science accessible and engaging for young learners; highlights his collaborative work with teachers across Scotland to develop innovative approaches to science teaching, and his passion for encouraging the next generation of scientists and educators; extends heartfelt condolences to Jim's family, friends and colleagues at SSERC, and to all those whose lives he touched throughout his career; expresses gratitude for his exceptional service to Scottish education and to the advancement of physics teaching in Scotland, and extends its deepest sympathy to all his family, friends and colleagues.
