That the Parliament congratulates the Greenock Model Yacht and Power Boat Club on its 150th anniversary; understands that the club, based at Murdieston Dam, was established in 1874 and is the second-oldest model yacht and power boat club of its kind in the UK; recognises the club’s resilience and longevity, having survived two world wars and continued to appeal to enthusiasts across three centuries; commends the dedication of its members, including Alan Westlake, club commodore and secretary, for maintaining the club’s strong membership and supporting activities that include wind-powered and radio-controlled model boating; applauds the club's efforts to attract younger members, with current members ranging in age from 19 to 72, as well as its community outreach projects like building boats with local schoolchildren; notes the club’s recent grant to repair the clubhouse roof, and wishes the Greenock Model Yacht and Power Boat Club continued success in preserving this historic pastime for future generations.
