That the Parliament laments the decision by Bauer Media to end Northsound 1’s weekday breakfast show, Jeff and Lauren in the Morning, at the end of 2024; understands that the show, which is broadcast locally from Northsound’s Tullos studio by the popular duo, Jeff Diack and Lauren Mitchell, is to be replaced by an Edinburgh-based show from 6 January 2025; further understands that Northsound has been broadcasting locally in the north east since 1981, originally from an old schoolhouse on King’s Gate, and has been where many well-known voices originally cut their teeth in radio broadcasting; considers that this decision will mean a reduction in the amount of quality radio content produced in the Granite City; hopes that this is not a sign of things to come and that Northsound will continue to broadcast locally produced content for many years to come, and looks forward to hearing Jeff and Lauren back on the airwaves in the near future.
