That the Parliament celebrates the Lamb for St Andrew's Day initiative, which aims to make delicious, nutritious and sustainable Scotch Lamb synonymous with St Andrew's Day; notes that organisations from across the Scottish red meat supply chain, including the Institute for Auctioneers and Appraisers in Scotland (IAAS) and Quality Meat Scotland (QMS), come together to implement and promote the campaign; understands that part of the initiative is the Lamb Bank operated by IAAS, which enables participating schools to serve Scotch Lamb to their pupils for St Andrew's Day; celebrates reports that the Lamb Bank has enabled over 100,000 portions of Scotch Lamb to be served in schools for St Andrew's Day; understands that teachers will also receive three fresh lamb recipes for students to prepare, along with two lesson plans exploring the journey of Scotch Lamb from farm to fork, highlighting its nutritional benefits and role in a healthy diet, provided by QMS’s health and education team; understands that, in collaboration with Sodexo and Campbell Brothers, Scotch Lamb will be served at the Scottish Parliament canteen for MSPs, staff and visitors to enjoy; further understands that they will also be able to learn about what it sees as lamb’s significance to Scotland's economy; recognises that Scotch Lamb has UK GI status, and believes that it is internationally renowned for its superior quality, high animal welfare standards and sustainable credentials, being produced in a country with abundant grazing land and heavy rainfall.
