Snakatak Voted Best Takeaway in Scotland

  • Submitted by: Finlay Carson, Galloway and West Dumfries, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 15 November 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15422

That the Parliament congratulates Snakatak, which is based in Kirkcudbright, on being voted the best takeaway in the whole of Scotland at the prestigious UK Business Awards held in November 2024; notes that the family business, which is operated by Chris and Laura Baker, has been in operation for 27 years; understands that it has gained a growing number of fans, both locally and nationally, from tourists visiting the area, who enjoy high-quality food from its extensive menu; recognises the long hours that it takes to operate seven days a week; acknowledges that the voter-led competition had previously resulted in Snakatak being judged as the best takeaway in Dumfries and Galloway, thereby winning it a place at the national final, and wishes the family continued success as it puts Kirkcudbright firmly on the taste map.
