High Blantyre Primary Gains Silver Reading Schools Award

That the Parliament congratulates High Blantyre Primary on gaining a Silver Reading Schools Award from the Scottish Book Trust; understands that the school has worked hard to revamp and update its infant library, create new reading snugs around the school, and organise displays and events to promote reading; further understands that the award was achieved through partnership working, including the Reading Pupil Voice group, the Parent Council and wider school community who all came together to plan and provide resources; understands that the school were commended not only for the creation of a high-quality reading environment, but for fostering support and enthusiasm for reading for pleasure throughout the school; commends the whole school community on their achievement, and wishes them well for their ongoing work towards a Gold Award.
