That the Parliament commends the investment by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service of £4.6 million in improvements to its sites in Inverness and Dingwall; understands that £3 million of this was spent on the Inverness Community Fire Station, which opened in 1956; further understands that the new investment means that the station will benefit from new decontamination and clean areas within the building, which it believes are vital to the wellbeing of its valued firefighters in their capacity to reduce workers’ unnecessary exposure to dirt and soot; notes what it sees as the importance of investment in the life-saving services provided by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, which responds to more than 90,000 incidents each year, and that these incidents are not limited to fires but also include traffic accidents, chemical spills, and incidents involving animals; celebrates the bravery and commitment of firefighters across Scotland, and wishes Inverness Community Fire Station all the best for the future.
