  • Date lodged: Wednesday, 30 October 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-15116

That the Parliament congratulates Jim Reid on being named the Scotland Loves Local High Street Hero for the North East; notes that the Scotland Loves Local Awards celebrate efforts to strengthen and sustain towns and communities across the country; acknowledges Jim’s success as a businessman with a vehicle sales and service business in Kintore, Aberdeenshire, and his dedication to community enhancement; commends his leadership in local initiatives such as the It’s Your Neighbourhood project, where he and a team of volunteers clean bus shelters, tidy green spaces, and enhance public areas around Kintore; recognises his work on the Benchmarking Kintore project, where, it understands, he helps to place QR codes on benches to share the town's rich history, and his role in supporting the community newsletter, and applauds what it sees as Jim’s tireless efforts to foster community pride and engagement in Kintore.
