Success of Eric Wallace of Orkney Builders at National House Building Council Awards

  • Submitted by: Liam McArthur, Orkney Islands, Scottish Liberal Democrats.
  • Date lodged: Monday, 21 October 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14966

That the Parliament congratulates Eric Wallace, who is site manager of Orkney Builders, on the news that he was named Scottish Small Housebuilder of the Year 2024; understands that the Pride in Job Regional Award was granted by the National House Building Council (NHBC) at its annual awards, held in Glasgow in October 2024; celebrates Eric’s continued success on being honoured with an additional Seal of Excellence award; recognises that the Scottish Small Housebuilder of the Year was the top award of the night, which, it understands, commends work done by housebuilders producing fewer than 50 units a year, with only three such awards presented across Scotland; notes that the awards are based on inspected quality levels and pays tribute to this recognition of what it considers to be the brilliant quality of work being done by Eric, and Orkney Builders more widely, as well as members of the local supply chain; celebrates the dedication of the whole team in delivering what it sees as consistently outstanding, quality homes for the people of Orkney, and wishes Eric the best of luck as he goes forward to the NHBC Pride in Job Supreme Awards, which will be held in London in January 2025.
