That the Parliament recognises the 85th anniversary of the Thornhill Young Farmers Club in Dumfries and Galloway; understands that the Thornhill Young Farmers Club is massively important in providing social events and agricultural information, and in supporting the rural community in and around the Thornhill area in the South Scotland region; notes that the club will mark its anniversary by holding a stock judging event on 18 October 2024 at Knockenenjig Farm, by kind permission of the Walker family, which will be followed by a dinner dance at the Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries on 2 November, and thanks all involved in the Thornhill Young Farmers Club for all that they do to support socialisation for young farmers in the Thornhill area, and for the wider work that they carry out to support the local rural community.
