That the Parliament congratulates Golden Friendships, based in Dalmuir, on winning Member Group of the Year 2024 at the Age Scotland awards ceremony on 1 October 2024; understands that the anti-loneliness charity achieved this award in recognition of its work tackling social isolation by providing a weekly lunch club, fun activities and opportunities to socialise for almost 300 older people in Clydebank; notes that the group has also just relaunched its free evening meals initiative, which will run until March 2025 to help those struggling with the cost of living crisis; believes that its team, compromising of 30 volunteers and seven members of staff, works tirelessly every day to help reduce social isolation and provide a warm and comforting environment for those in need, and commends everyone involved on this very well deserved award.
