That the Parliament congratulates SHARK Johnshaven on winning the Beautiful Aberdeenshire Environmental Award at the 2024 Inspiring Aberdeenshire event; understands that SHARK was established in 2006 and is an environmental group, which is run by volunteers and based in Johnshaven; notes that it encourages a more sustainable lifestyle for the area by promoting green waste composting, beach cleans and village litter picks; further notes that it also looks to care for wildlife and their habitats by supporting migrating swifts from Africa, installing hedgehog highways and being active in protecting local species; recognises the role that it plays in helping the community pull together to reduce its collective impact on the planet, and wishes SHARK Johnshaven well as it promote activities that reduce the village’s contribution to global warming.
