  • Submitted by: Fulton MacGregor, Coatbridge and Chryston, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 17 September 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14512

That the Parliament commends Coatbridge resident, Michelle Armstrong, on being recognised with a 2024 Global Recognition Award; understands that the award was won in acknowledgement of Michelle’s tireless work to guide Coatbridge hospitality business, The Eden Group, through the challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic; understands that Michelle’s leadership and strategic foresight ensured that five hospitality venues under her directorship were able to survive and prosper during the difficult pandemic years; commends Michelle for exhibiting strategic innovation, and empowering leadership, which were key qualities recognised with her award; understands that particular credit was given to her interpersonal skills, which, it believes, has led to a loyal, motivated, and robust workforce that operates in a collaborative and inclusive environment, which has seen many of her team members develop professionally in the hospitality industry; considers that this Global Recognition Award underlines the tenacity and diligence of business directors from Scotland, like Michelle, and wishes her continued success into the future.
