  • Submitted by: Fergus Ewing, Inverness and Nairn, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 17 September 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14502

That the Parliament congratulates Lorraine McCall, from Beauly, on becoming the first person to complete all 231 significant peaks in Scotland, known as the Grahams, which include all the Fionas and 12 additional hills, now reclassified as those between 600 metres and 762 metres in height; notes that Lorraine accomplished this remarkable feat using only foot and bike travel while living with cancer, overcoming numerous health and weather challenges; acknowledges her previous achievements in completing all the Munros and Corbetts; celebrates her strength, determination and resilience, which have captured the hearts of many; commends her fundraising efforts for Alzheimer Scotland in memory of her friend and in support of her mother, who is living with the illness, and recognises what it sees as the inspiration that Lorraine provides to people across Scotland and beyond through her story of perseverance and tenacity.
