Turkish Intercultural Society in Scotland Achieves SCIO Status

That the Parliament congratulates the Turkish Intercultural Society in Scotland on achieving Scottish Charity Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) status; notes its dedication to advancing community cohesion and spirit by celebrating an inclusive Scotland, while using Turkish intangible cultural heritage and intercultural dialogue as a conduit to progressing race equality and community empowerment for all; compliments its commitment to facilitating and progressing intercultural dialogues and equal participation platforms among diverse communities by sharing experiences and memories and enhancing an inclusive national identity as equal Scottish citizens, and values its aim to advance active citizenship for the Turkish community through the delivery of democratic participation programmes that inspire intercultural dialogue, sharing and enhancing Turkish cultural heritage awareness, and delivering cultural and community development initiatives that aim to enable equal active contributions for the Turkish community and other communities in Scotland.
