  • Submitted by: Jeremy Balfour, Lothian, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Friday, 30 August 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-14240

That the Parliament notes with deep sadness the passing of Euan MacDonald, the inspirational co-founder of Euan's Guide, a website dedicated to providing disabled people with reliable reviews and information about the accessibility of venues across the UK and beyond; recognises what it sees as Euan's remarkable contributions to improving the lives of disabled people through his tireless advocacy, following his diagnosis with motor neurone disease (MND) in 2003; commends the positive impact of Euan's Guide, which, it understands, has empowered thousands of disabled people to explore the world with greater confidence and independence; acknowledges Euan's courage, determination and unwavering commitment to breaking down barriers, and extends its heartfelt condolences to Euan's family, friends, and all who knew and admired him.
