Pakistan Marks its 78th Independence Day

That the Parliament recognises the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Pakistan on 14 August 2024; congratulates people from Pakistan in Scotland, the rest of the UK and across the world on celebrating their independence day; recognises what it sees as the considerable achievements of the republic since its independence; notes the well-established relationship between Scotland and Pakistan; commends the ongoing work to maintain meaningful links between the two nations; understands that Pakistani diaspora in Scotland number over 80,000, and appreciates them for their contributions in making Scotland a more vibrant and culturally diverse place to live.
