That the Parliament recognises the role that fruit trees have in supporting biodiversity and tackling the climate emergency; understands that Climate Action Fife’s A Fruit Tree for Every Garden in Fife campaign distributed more than 380 pear, plum and apple trees to local gardeners in spring 2024; further understands that more than 1,000 individual trees have been added to an online map; welcomes the initiative as a practical contribution that citizens can make to solving the climate crisis through individual action, and believes that this project could bear fruit in other parts of Scotland.
