Paisley Care Worker Named Nursing Support Worker of the Year

That the Parliament understands that Braemount Nursing Care Home care worker, Angela Brown, has been named the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Scotland Nursing Support Worker of the Year at the recent Nurse of the Year Awards 2024; celebrates that Angela, who has worked as a care worker for the last 28 years, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to the care of residents and patients; notes that Angela’s colleagues described her as a highly dedicated and hardworking care support worker known for her kindness, enthusiasm and commitment; understands that she consistently advocates for the individual needs of the residents in her care and is well-liked and respected by both residents and peers for her compassionate approach; further understands that Angela is currently leading a successful project called Strength and Balance, which is aimed at improving residents’ health in care homes, and that, despite challenges, she has ensured the project’s continuation and positive outcomes, earning praise from residents and their families; acknowledges that, beyond caring for her residents, Angela also finds time to fundraise and further support their holistic needs, and thanks Angela for her decades of service, and for making that special difference to the lives of her patients.
