Congratulations to Aspect and Aberdeen Cyrenians

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 11 July 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13872

That the Parliament congratulates the Aberdeen-based strategic communications firm, Aspect, on exceeding its £100,000 target of support for Aberdeen Cyrenians over the last 12 months; notes that the partnership, which has been in place since June 2023, has seen members of the Aspect team making a range of contributions to support the Aberdeen-based charity, including over 50 hours of volunteering at Aberdeen Cyrenian's city centre base and raising nearly £3,000 through a variety of fundraising activities, such as walking a collective 126 miles for the charity in the 2024 Kiltwalk Aberdeen; understands that the firm has also been able to provide a safe and secure office space for the charity's services, Ending Violence and Abuse Aberdeen and Strength for Tomorrow, which offer assistance for victims of gender-based violence and childhood abuse; believes that Aspect's support, which also delivered new media opportunities, political connections and an enhanced digital presence for Aberdeen Cyrenians, has been a great example of delivering innovative support for partners in the charity sector, and hopes that the year-long partnership can have a lasting impact on helping Aberdeen Cyrenians deliver the vital services it provides for those in need of its help.
