Girvan Youth Trust Winners at National Youth Work Awards

That the Parliament commends Friday Night Football, which is a diversionary partnership project between Girvan Youth Trust, Community Safety, Girvan Community Sport Hub and Girvan Football Club on being announced as winners at the National Youth Work Awards in the Inclusion & Prevention category; understands that Friday Night Football in Girvan tackles issues such as violence and sectarianism using football as a catalyst and that this partnership project has led to a 22% decrease in youth disorder on Friday evenings; notes that Girvan Youth Trust provides a safe space for young people transforming Friday nights from a time of trouble to a time of growth and community, and wishes the trust every success going forward.
