ACVO #KeepThePromise Campaign

  • Submitted by: Kevin Stewart, Aberdeen Central, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 09 July 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13855

That the Parliament welcomes the launch of the #KeepThePromise campaign by ACVO TSI, Aberdeen's third sector interface, which aims to highlight and celebrate how six Aberdeen-based organisations are working towards the aims of The Promise; notes that The Promise, a Scottish Government initiative, is aimed at implementing the findings of the Independent Care Review of 2020 to improve the lives of care experienced children and young people; understands that the campaign is gathering stories from six local organisations, Home-Start Aberdeen, Befriend a Child, Touch of Love, Sport Aberdeen, Sunrise Partnership and ACVO TSI, to demonstrate the impact that their work is having on the lives of care experienced people in Aberdeen through audio recordings and first-hand reflections from those delivering services and those most in need; believes that the campaign will be a great opportunity to raise awareness about The Promise and how it is being delivered in Aberdeen, and thanks all those involved in these organisations who are making life better for the young people they support.
