Commending Crew Commander Gary Carroll on Receiving the King’s Fire Service Medal

That the Parliament congratulates Crew Commander Gary Carroll on being awarded the King’s Fire Service Medal for his outstanding contributions as part of the UK International Search and Rescue Team; acknowledges what it sees as his significant efforts and dedication in supporting International Search and Rescue (ISAR) teams as a dog handler, having been deployed overseas on four separate occasions; commends Gary Carroll for his pioneering role in training and working with the first ever K9 team in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, alongside his dog, Diesel, and currently with search dog, Coorie; recognises his extensive career, which, it understands, began as an on-call firefighter in Aberdeenshire in 1993 and transitioned to a wholetime firefighter in 1999, with subsequent roles in research, development, and training; extends its sincerest appreciation for his unwavering dedication and contributions to the field of fire service and rescue operations, and expresses its best wishes for his continued success and fulfilment in his vital search and rescue role.
