Congratulating 12 Edinburgh and Lothian Residents Recognised in The King's Birthday Honours

That the Parliament congratulates the 12 Edinburgh and Lothian residents who have been recognised for selfless and innovative service to others in His Majesty The King’s Birthday Honours List 2024; notes that recipients were awarded for services to the community, culture, and sport; recognises Hannah George Waller Beaton-Hawryluk from South Queensferry, who was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to the Ukrainian community in Scotland, having established a humanitarian aid collection point, and sending over £5.5 million and 36 lorries of aid to support communities in Ukraine; further recognises David William Stewart Todd, who was awarded a British Empire Medal (BEM) for services to the Arts in Scotland, having worked to ensure that the arts are accessible for all, and providing free tickets to refugees to enjoy Edinburgh’s culture; commends all those who were awarded in the 2024 Birthday Honours, and hopes for the continued recognition of public service.
