Celebrating the Life of Lord Kelvin on the 200th Anniversary of his Birth

That the Parliament celebrates the life and achievements of Lord Kelvin, who was born 200 years ago, on 26 June 1824, and matriculated at the University of Glasgow at the age of 10; recognises his contributions to science, including paving the way for the global communication highway through his commitment to the transatlantic telegraph cable project, and celebrates Lord Kelvin’s 53 years as the Chair of Natural Philosophy at the University of Glasgow.
