Greenbrae Primary School Awarded Gold School Sport Award

That the Parliament congratulates Greenbrae Primary School, in Aberdeen Donside, on attaining a gold sportscotland School Sport Award; recognises that Greenbrae has become the first school within the Aberdeen Donside constituency to attain this award; notes that the sportscotland award is a national initiative, funded by the National Lottery, which is designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision-making, planning and implementation of extra-curricular school sport; understands that the Gold Sport Award is in recognition of a school’s achievements in putting sport at the heart of their planning, practice and ethos, whilst also highlighting that the school has shown excellent practice across the core areas of the award as well as demonstrating an ongoing commitment to increase young people’s opportunities and engagement in physical education, school sport and leadership and to provide clear pathways to lifelong participation in sport; commends the hard work and commitment of all staff at Greenbrae school in enabling the school to receive this prestigious award, and wishes all at Greenbrae school well as they continue to develop their school sport offerings.
