That the Parliament congratulates Broxburn Academy students, Sarah Pym and Finlay Sayers, on winning the prestigious Donald Dewar Memorial Debating Tournament at the Law Society of Scotland’s national annual competition, which was held on 12 June 2024 at the National Galleries of Scotland; understands that this tournament was created in 1999 and so has been challenging and inspiring young people for the last 25 years; acknowledges that this is the second year in a row that students from Broxburn Academy have won this competition; further acknowledges that this is the latest in a series of accomplishments by Broxburn Academy's young debaters, and that the Academy has now established itself as one of the most successful schools for debating in Scotland, and wishes Broxburn Academy continued success for many years to come.
