That the Parliament congratulates the June 2024 recipients of the sportscotland School Sport Awards in the Central Scotland region; acknowledges that the sportscotland School Sport Award is funded by the National Lottery, and is a national initiative designed to encourage schools to put young people at the heart of decision making, planning and implementation of extra-curricular school sport; considers that taking part in the awards encourages schools to self-reflect and continuously improve, recognise and celebrate successful school sport models; recognises that the award also encourages sporting links between schools and the communities around them; believes that the schools have shown excellent practice across the core areas of the award and demonstrated an ongoing commitment to increase young people’s opportunities and engagement in physical education, school sport and leadership and provide clear pathways to life-long participation in sport, and commends all recent Central Scotland region school recipients for achieving their gold school awards, including Chryston Primary School, St Augustine's RC Primary School in Coatbridge, St Kevin's Primary School in Bargeddie, Bargeddie Primary School, St Ambrose RC High School in Coatbridge, Ladywell Primary School in Motherwell, Orchard Primary School in Overtown, Bothwellpark High School in Motherwell, Calderbridge Primary School in Wishaw, St Brendan's Primary School in Motherwell, Knowetop Primary School in Motherwell, St Mary's RC Primary School in Caldercruix, Airdrie, Plains Primary School, Tollbrae Primary School in Airdrie, and Sacred Heart Primary School in Bellshill.
