Alzheimer Scotland Centre for Policy and Practice Signs Third Strategic Partnership Agreement

That the Parliament congratulates the Alzheimer Scotland Centre for Policy and Practice (ASCPP) for what it regards as its vital work in supporting people living with dementia and carers; understands that the ASCPP is a long-standing partnership between the University of the West of Scotland and Alzheimer Scotland; celebrates that the partnership was established in 2013, and that it signed its third Strategic Partnership Agreement in May 2024; notes that the partnership works collaboratively with people with dementia and carers, calling for higher standards of dementia care, advancing innovative dementia research, and addressing dementia-related inequalities; further notes that the ASCPP’s award-winning Dementia Champions Programme, which seeks to improve the experience of people living with dementia by supplying adequate training to health and social care professionals, has created over 1,000 Dementia Champions graduates who are making a positive impact in their workplaces; notes that through its Carers’ Academy the ASCPP provides skills, training and information for family carers of people living with dementia, and wishes the ASCPP the very best in continuing its innovative approaches to dementia research and support.
