Volunteers' Week Scotland 2024

That the Parliament recognises what it sees as the importance and value of volunteering and of volunteer organisations in fostering a sense of community and improving community wellbeing; acknowledges that Volunteers' Week Scotland 2024 took place from 3 to 9 June 2024, celebrating and recognising the efforts of volunteers and seeking to inspire more people to make a difference through volunteering; notes the work of volunteer organisations, such as Pilmeny Development Project in Leith, which supports local residents by encouraging self-help initiatives to resolve people’s problems, and building community participation to improve quality of life for residents of all ages; congratulates Pilmeny Development Project on achieving the Investing in Volunteers Quality Standard, the UK quality standard for good practice in volunteer management, and wishes Pilmeny Development Project, and all who volunteer in their community, well for the future.
