That the Parliament notes the retirement of Strathcarron Hospice's Chief Executive, Irene McKie, who will be retiring in the summer after 18 years at the organisation; understands that in her time at Strathcarron, Irene has helped ensure exceptional standards of care, according to a new report by Healthcare Improvement Scotland; further understands that Strathcarron has received the highest accolade of exceptional, for people’s experience of care and the involvement of carers and families; understands that it has received a grade of exceptional for the leadership of improvement and change in hospice services; believes that Strathcarron has worked hard to challenge perceptions of hospice care, not just within its inpatient services but across the health system, and wishes Irene and Strathcarron all the best in their future endeavours.
