Noost Knit Co Awarded £70,000 from the Scottish Edge Competition

That the Parliament congratulates Amy Walkinshaw and Doug Cunningham, who were awarded £70,000 from the Scottish Edge competition; notes that Scottish Edge aims to identify and support what it considers to be Scotland’s innovative, high-growth potential entrepreneurial talent; understands that the business venture, Noost Knit Co, will be located in Lochinver and aims to offer employment opportunities to people in the local area; further understands that the innovative knitting company will produce quality knitwear, which will be made in the Highlands, while also offering manufacturing solutions to local businesses, therefore reducing carbon footprint; notes that its product line will include hand-knitted ganseys, which are commonly worn by fishermen in coastal communities, offering protection from rain and wind; congratulates Amy and Doug on their success in the competition, and wishes Noost Knit Co all the very best for the future.
