Family Arts Day Aberdeen

That the Parliament welcomes Family Arts Day in Aberdeen on 8 June 2024; notes that the day, which is being held at Union Terrace Gardens and His Majesty's Theatre, is part of Aberdeen Performing Arts' Light the Blue festival, which is organised by young people for young people, and features numerous events across the city centre from 4 to 15 June 2024; understands that Family Arts Day will feature performances, workshops, tours and arts activities for children and their families from 12.00 pm until 5.00 pm, with drop-in events including musical performances from Drake Music Scotland's Digital Orchestra, Youth Academy of Expressive Arts, and Aberdeen City Council Instrumental Music Service's Junior Strings, as well as dance performances from Citymoves Dance Agency and Northfield Academy, and drama performances from Aberdeen Arts Centre and family-friendly backstage tours of His Majesty's Theatre; congratulates Light the Blue on putting together a packed day of events for families to enjoy, and hopes that Family Arts Day is an overwhelming success.
