  • Submitted by: Meghan Gallacher, Central Scotland, Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 06 June 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13508

That the Parliament congratulates Newarthill Primary School and Chatelherault Primary School on their 2024-26 Gold School Sport Awards; notes that the Award is in recognition of the schools' achievements in putting sport at the heart of their planning, decision-making, practice and ethos; highlights what it sees as the continuous commitment by the schools to increase opportunities and engagement for young people in physical education, school sport and leadership; understands that this is a national initiative funded by the National Lottery, which encourages sporting links between schools and their surrounding communities, providing pathways to life-long participation in sport, and recognises that these two schools join 17 others across the Central Scotland region that have achieved a Gold School Sport Award.
