Braes High School Teacher Named Scottish Rugby's Schools Volunteer of the Season

  • Submitted by: Gillian Mackay, Central Scotland, Scottish Green Party.
  • Date lodged: Tuesday, 04 June 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-13438

That the Parliament congratulates Ross Ledger, who is a PE teacher at Braes High School, on being named Scottish Rugby’s Schools Volunteer of the Season; understands that Mr Ledger started his school’s rugby programme eight years ago from scratch and has since helped to greatly increase participation in the sport, fostering a strong relationship between Braes High and local club, Grangemouth Stags; further understands that pupils have highlighted inclusivity, a motivating environment, constructive feedback and the fact that they always learn something new as the main reasons why they keep coming back to Mr Ledger's sessions, and wishes Mr Ledger and all the participants the very best for the future.
