Finalists at NHS Ayrshire and Arran Prestigious Awards

That the Parliament congratulates Susan Holland and Yasmin Murray, who have been announced as finalists at the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Scotland Nurse of the Year Awards; understands that Susan Holland, who is based at University Hospital Crosshouse, is a finalist in the Mental Health Nursing Award category, while Yasmin Murray, also based at Crosshouse, is a finalist in the Learning in Practice Award category; notes that Susan, who has been an Alzheimer Scotland dementia nurse consultant for six years, was nominated for her leadership skills and outstanding contribution to the field of mental health nursing and her commitment to positive dementia practices, and that Yasmin, who is a deputy charge nurse in the Medical High Dependency Unit, is being recognised for her work to develop a specialised training package to help junior nurses in the unit, which, it understands, has the potential to improve patient care, efficiency and staff retention, and extends its congratulations to both nurses.
