Scotland Moorland Groups' Game for Giving Campaign

  • Submitted by: Audrey Nicoll, Aberdeen South and North Kincardine, Scottish National Party.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 25 January 2024
  • Motion reference: S6M-11974

That the Parliament congratulates the Scotland Moorland Groups, including Grampian Moorland Group, on their Game For Giving campaign that celebrates and promotes the benefits of wild game; acknowledges their engagement with local estates and businesses to successfully deliver sustainable and healthy game meals to local residents, charities, organisations and foodbanks; recognises the linkage that the campaign creates with The Country Food Trust through the distribution of game food pouches to families and individuals in need during the cost of living crisis; further recognises what it sees as the many benefits to eating game meat by virtue of it being high in protein, iron, zinc, vitamin E, vitamin B, beta carotene, and omega-3 fatty acids; believes that both projects demonstrate the benefits of working together to achieve a common goal, and wishes everyone involved in delivering the projects well in their future endeavours.
