  • Submitted by: Jackie Baillie, Dumbarton, Scottish Labour.
  • Date lodged: Thursday, 30 November 2023
  • Motion reference: S6M-11410

That the Parliament congratulates Anna Burnet and her partner, John Gimson, on breaking the sailing record from Belfast Ballyholme to Portpatrick and back using a sustainably powered vessel; understands that the pair smashed the record by 27 minutes on the Artemis eFoiler; notes that the duo used the challenge to show the marine sector that the transfer to sustainably powered vessels was possible; believes that Anna and John should be hailed for their commitment to highlighting the climate crisis and commended for their record breaking, and wishes them well at the Olympics in Paris in 2024.
