That the Parliament congratulates Brass Sounds Inverclyde on winning in the fourth section of the Scottish Brass Band Championships at Perth Concert Hall; understands that the Inverclyde brass band has therefore successfully qualified for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain in Cheltenham in September 2022; further understands that under the baton of musical director, Joshua Parkhill, the band saw off stiff competition from a strong field of eight rivals; understands that the band’s principal euphonium player, Isaac Parkhill, also received the award for best instrumentalist at the Championships; applauds the band on their success given the performance was the band’s first since the pandemic began in 2020, and wishes them all the best as they prepare for the UK-wide championships later this year.
