Potential impacts of the re-development of Ardrossan harbour on ferry services to Arran are being considered as part of service continuity planning in collaboration with project partners, including the Isle of Arran Ferry Committee.

To ask the Scottish Government what structures or schemes it currently has in place to provide support to EU students seeking financial support to study in Scotland.
Answer
EU nationals who were living in the UK prior to the end of the Brexit Transition Period (31 December 2020) are eligible for the home tuition fee rate and tuition fee support to study at a Scottish institution. EU nationals who satisfy this criteria and were also living in the UK and Islands for 3 years can access living cost support, provided they are ordinarily resident in Scotland.

The Scottish Parliament is responsible for the salaries and support for MSPs, including training. On appointment, the Scottish Government provide Ministers with information on matters such as the Scottish Ministerial Code and security .

To ask the Scottish Government how many deaths have been recorded at reservoirs managed by Scottish Water in each year since 2013.
Answer
Scottish Water has recorded the following number of deaths since 2013 at the reservoirs it manages:
2013 – Mill Glen – 2 deaths
2014 – Torduff – 1 death
2018 – Glenburn – 1 death
Scottish Water takes a proactive role in reducing the risks around its assets, and is urging people to stay safe, behave responsibly and not take risks around watercourses such as reservoirs, rivers and lochs.
Guidance on wild swimming is now available to Public Health Scotland website and provides useful information - Wild swimming: how to swim safely in Scotland's outdoor water (publichealthscotland.scot) .

To ask the Scottish Government how many internship placements has Scottish Water hosted in each year since 2013, including paid internships for young people through the Career Ready Programme.

The number of interns Scottish Water hired in each year since 2013 is set out in the table below. In 2020, the Covid 19 pandemic impacted Scottish Water’s ability to support internships and this continued to have an impact in 2021 and 2022.

To ask the Scottish Government how much funding has been awarded in Private Water Supply Grants to (a) homes and (b) commercial premises in the West Scotland region, in each year since 2007.
Answer
A total of £194,841 in private water supply grants has been awarded by North Ayrshire, Inverclyde, Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire Councils from financial years 2007-08 to 2022-23. A further £2,263,062 has been awarded by Argyll and Bute Council for the same period. However, it should be noted that the Argyll and Bute Council area goes beyond the West Scotland region. Totals by local authority are set out in the following table. The Scottish Government does not hold information regarding the breakdown of amounts awarded to (a) homes and (b) commercial premises.
