To ask the Scottish Government what plans it has to implement the recommendations made in March 2003 by the Scottish Law Commission in its paper, Report on Law of the Foreshore and Sea Bed.

To ask the Scottish Government what plans it has to extend the guidance in A National Approach to Anti-Bullying for Scotland’s Children and Young People to independent schools.

The Scottish Government takes bullying very seriously. Bullying of any kind, is unacceptable and must be addressed whenever it arises.

We want all children and young people to be free from discrimination, so that they can learn and reach their full potential. Our National Approach to Anti-Bullying for Scotland’s Children and Young People sets out a common vision and aims to make sure that work across all agencies and communities is jointly focused on addressing all types of bullying. The guidance is currently being updated and makes clear the role of all adults and children and young people in preventing and dealing with bullying, as well as what they can expect from others. The guidance will be published later in 2016.

We expect that all Independent schools have an anti-bullying policy in line with the National Approach to Anti-Bullying for Scotland’s Children and Young People.
